An Accidental Monet

This one didn’t make the 2027 calendar.
I loved it. Except for the sky.
Blown-out white, no clouds, no color, nothing.
I could’ve faked a better one in Photoshop, but a made-up sky isn’t something I’ll hand you and call it a photograph of the Outer Banks.
But, I did play around a little until it wasn't a photograph anymore. Made it a soft, brushy, Monet-ish thing with the sky that worked.
I’m no painter.
But that’s the point: once an image is clearly not a photo I can use, I can give it any sky I like. The camera has to tell the truth. Everything after that gets to dream.
This photo didn’t make the cut, but it is a notecard now. 🙂
