As I strolled the beach, conversing with the shorebirds, I remarked how beautiful the sunrise walk was on this morning.
"Yeah, it's pretty nice," the laughing gull said, "I've seen nicer."
"Me too," the sanderlings chimed in, in unison.
Then the sun did the unexpected.
I smiled and said, "Okay, now you're just showing off."
The sun smiled, all the shorebirds said "wow." each in their own particular dialect.
Life on a sandbar, always interesting.
