Sit with the Ocean
· by Roy Edlund

Most of us come to the ocean for our own reasons.
We sit at the edge, hands in the sand, waiting for the noise in your head to finally stop competing with the sound of the surf. Past the point where you stop thinking and melt into the beachscape in front of you.
Sit with her long enough and something shifts. The urgency of life fades.
The ocean doesn't hand out answers like a vending machine.
She just keeps being the ocean, patient and enormous and completely unbothered, until you're finally quiet enough to hear what she's been saying all along.
That's when she'll tell you everything you need to know.
