World Mosquito Day

World Mosquito Day

Just found out that today is World Mosquito Day. Woohoo.

They're collecting blood in a town near you, I've even seen them far from towns.

These ladies are relentless in their quest for blood.

FYI, the protein and iron in blood are what let them develop a batch of eggs. So the biting isn't about their day-to-day survival, it's all about reproduction.

Every time one drills into your arm, she's gathering raw materials for the next generation, from what I've gleaned they've got one thing on their minds.

The males, on the other hand, live pretty gentle lives, sipping nectar and plant juices and never bothering anyone.

I'm afraid my plea for you to donate blood for this worthy cause would be disingenuous.

But now you know.

❤ Last Dowdy Market today. Hope to see you.
